Building Transformation Program

Atlantic Canada’s building stock is aging. This means high maintenance costs combined with rising fuel costs that leave many building owners stuck between urgent needs and uncertain options. Deep retrofits offer a way forward but often result in feasibility studies that never progress.

Our flagship Building Transformation Program (BTP) exists to change that. We provide building owners of commercial, institutional, and multi-residential buildings with funding toward feasibility studies and dedicated technical guidance at every step of their deep retrofit journey.

ReCover simplifies the process and makes it more accessible. We help bridge the gap between technical ambition and financial return, turning technical studies into an investment‑ready business case report that decision-makers can act on.

Clarity for High-Stakes Building Decisions

The Building Transformation Program gives building owners the evidence and support needed to move major upgrades forward with confidence.

Through BTP, you receive:

  • funding towards feasibility studies (for eligible buildings), lowering upfront cost and removing a major barrier to getting started
  • a customized implementation roadmap that shows what to do first, what can wait, and what delivers the strongest return
  • an investment ready business case that synthesizes technical with financial modelling and supports confident decision-making
  • support navigating funding and financing so you’re not left guessing which programs you qualify for or how to stack incentives

BTP is built for owners who need a credible, actionable plan — not another study that sits on a shelf. It turns building complexity into a clear, strategic path forward.

Eligibility questions

1.

Are you managing a pre-2000 building with rising energy costs or deferred maintenance?

2.

Are you interested in available funding for Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies to assist your deep retrofit journey?

3.

Are you ready to transform your building into a higher-performing, higher-value asset?

Going deeper with deep retrofits

Deep retrofits go beyond single-system upgrades by addressing the building envelope, systems, and operations together to deliver lasting performance, comfort, and resilience.

Through this holistic approach, ReCover helps you achieve both carbon reductions and capital appreciation, ensuring your investment pays back in value as well as efficiency.

FAQs

Most studies take 3–6 months, depending on building complexity. ReCover coordinates the process and manages updates so you can focus on operations.

For a modest program fee, a BTP client receives technical deep retrofit guidance, administrative support, and an investment-ready business case report that synthesizes technical feasibility studies, financial modelling, and tailored financing options to support decision makers in moving forward with deep retrofit projects.

As a BTP client, partial funding is available toward pre‑implementation feasibility studies, including but not limited to ASHRAE II energy audits, building condition assessments, thermal imaging, and life cycle cost analysis. The Program does not offer financing, grants, or rebates for capital costs associated with deep retrofits, but we support clients in identifying and applying for funding opportunities to advance projects.

For a fee less than half the cost of a traditional ASHRAE II feasibility study, a BTP client receives technical deep retrofit guidance, administrative support, and an investment-ready business case report that synthesizes technical feasibility studies, financial modelling, and tailored financing options to support decision makers in moving forward with deep retrofit projects.

It’s an energy assessment that identifies efficiency measures. ReCover builds on this audit to quantify ROI and valuation impact.

If your feasibility study included an ASHRAE Level 2 Audit, yes. We review your existing study, align it with funding criteria, and help you advance to implementation.
