The ReCover Initiative and Efficiency Capital Partner to Accelerate Deep Retrofits Across Atlantic Canada
TORONTO, ON – April 16, 2026 – Building owners in Atlantic Canada now have a streamlined, fully supported pathway to modernize aging infrastructure, improve energy efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions.
The ReCover Initiative (ReCover) and Efficiency Capital have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate deep retrofits and net-zero retrofits for commercial, institutional and multi-unit residential building owners across Atlantic Canada.
ReCover Acquires SEEFAR Building Analytics to Advance Deep Retrofits
Halifax, NS, April 13, 2026 – The ReCover Initiative (ReCover), Atlantic Canada’s deep retrofit accelerator, today announced the acquisition of SEEFAR Building Analytics Inc. (SEEFAR), a building analytics firm known for its leadership in Total Cost of Building Ownership (TCBO) and lifecycle valuation. The acquisition strengthens ReCover’s ability to support building owners, asset managers, and policy makers with integrated tools for planning deep retrofits and high-performance buildings.
ReCover and Executive Director Emma Norton Honoured with 2026 Clean50 Awards
The ReCover Initiative and Co-Founder and Executive Director Emma Norton have both been recognized with national honours from Canada’s Clean50 awards. ReCover was named a 2026 Clean50 Top Project, and Emma Norton was selected as a 2026 Clean50 Emerging Leader.
Deep retrofits: A lifeline for old buildings
On the launch of the Deep Retrofit Accelerator in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI), ReCover Co-founder and Executive Director, Emma Norton, was interviewed by CTV News Atlantic where they discussed deep retrofits, why they matter for Atlantic Canada, and ReCover’s role.
In the interview, Norton is joined by Dr. Kuljeet Grewal, Assistant Professor at UPEI, and one of the expert speakers at the launch event in PEI.
